An AI you can text on WhatsApp

1. Choose Start texting and enter your US mobile number. A six-digit code arrives by text.
2. Enter the code, then choose WhatsApp.
3. Send the first message: “hey clawd”.

Clawd answers the number you signed up with, so message it from the WhatsApp account on that number. You can send photos, files and voice notes; a voice note is turned into text for it. The conversation carries on when you come back.

Clawd can look things up, read a page, set reminders, make a picture or a PDF, and send a browser out to a website to do a task and report back. When a website needs you signed in, it sends a link and you sign in on that page yourself. Browse more examples.

Adding Clawd’s WhatsApp number to a group turns Clawd on for that group. The group belongs to the account of the person who added it, so that person needs a Clawd account with room on their plan. The plan includes one active group, and the group shares that person’s allowance.

If your plan’s group is already in use, Clawd tells you so in your own private conversation. If the person who adds the number has no account, nothing happens and the group is told nothing. A group that another account already owns stays theirs.

Once it is on, tag Clawd, reply to one of its messages or say its name, and it joins in. People in the group can ask a question, send a photo, set a reminder for everyone or ask for something to be looked up on a website. It can also stay quiet. Two things a group could send:

• “He said he’d be up at noon. Remind us.”
• “Draw what you think the three of us look like.”

The group’s Clawd keeps its own conversation and files, separate from anyone’s private chat, and your private conversation isn’t automatically shared with the group. Website tasks asked for in a group run signed out, as a guest.

You can switch a group off and on from your workspace. Removing Clawd from the group turns it off there and its history is set to be deleted seven days later, unless the person who added it adds it back before then.

Clawd is free for seven days with no card. The free week includes 100 requests and checks, ten website tasks and five images.

After that it is $29 per month: 500 requests and checks, 30 website tasks, 20 image generations or edits, and one active WhatsApp group sharing your allowance.
